Ranveer Singh Bhavnani (born 6 July 1985) is an Indian actor who appears in Hindi films. The recipient of several awards, including two Filmfare Awards, Singh is among the highest-paid actors in the country and has featured in Forbes India‘s Celebrity 100 list since 2012.
After completing a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University Bloomington, Singh returned to India to pursue a career in film. He briefly worked in advertising and went on to make his acting debut in 2010 with a leading role in Yash Raj Films’ romantic comedy Band Baaja Baaraat. The film emerged as a critical and commercial success, earning him a Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. He went on to play a melancholic thief in the drama Lootera (2013), a local goon in the action-drama Gunday (2014), and a dissatisfied businessman in the comedy-drama Dil Dhadakne Do (2015).

The actor initially joined H.R. College of Commerce and Economics in Mumbai but soon realised his love for the camera. He later went to the United States and completed his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University, Bloomington. He stayed in the US for about four years.
Ranveer Singh worked for a few years in advertising as a copywriter, with agencies like O&M and J. Walter Thompson before becoming an actor.
He was extremely picking about his debut and rejected three films before he was picked for the YRF blockbuster, Band Bajaa Baraat.
Ranveer is the only debutant casted by YashRaj as a solo hero in a movie.
Ranveer injured his shoulder badly during the shoot Bajirao Mastani. Before this, he suffered a serious leg injury while shooting for his much talked about film, Lootera.
Ranveer is known to be a great rapper. In fact he has lent his voice in one of his films titled ‘Ladies v/s Ricky Bahl’ for a small rap song.
